Melville Intermediate - Hotiki Waiata

The chords for Hotiki are D B G and A.
The words of Hotiki are below in Maori (in Black) and a translation in English (in Red)

Hotiki hotiki
Let him tie his own shoes

Kia tika ka uru, ka puta nga puare
Let the open choices be choosen

Ka taea kumea ki a tika
He is almost there

E kore E taka kore rawa e
So now he can do it himself.

Hotiki Waiata - Take Two from myles webb on Vimeo.

This video was filmed by Terrina from Room Eight. Originally Ashton from Room 1 who is playing guitar, was going to read out the chords at the end of the song. However you can see Ora taking a piece of paper and ripping it in half during the song, this is the paper that Ashton had the chords on!

  1. That was so good. I liked the way that Ashton did those chords, moving up the frets like that.

I am going to try and copy that.

  2. Hi, your blog is amazing! I am a teacher from England (Barnsley which is in Yorkshire) and have spent some time looking at the work you have done. My yr 7 class have started their own blog and we will certainly be having a look at yours tomorrow! Our school has 1500 pupils, there are 300 in year 7 with ten forms of approx 30 pupils. I hope that we can maybe 'talk' to one another...keep up the stunning work Mrs Hewitt

  4. Hi!

My name is Allie Howell, and I am a student in Dr. Strange's EDM310 course at the University of South Alabama. I really enjoyed watching this video! Ashton did a great job playing the guitar, and the lyrics were great! :) Keep up the great work, guys!
