Melville Intermediate - AIMS Games Preparation

In September this year the NZAIMS (New Zealand Association of Intermediates and Middle School) games will take place in Tauranga. This year there are over 150 schools competing in 15 different events, with over 5500 Y7 and Y8 students competing. Melville Intermediate will be there to contest the Girls Basketball title for the fourth year in a row, this year against a record 18 other schools. The tournament is the show piece for Intermediate Age Sport in New Zealand, and there are schools fom Australia competing for the first time. Melville Intermediate are currently preparing by playing on Tuesday nights in a local basketball league. However we're preparing for the competition by playing against club sides and boys teams. Following wins against Te Awamutu Intermediate and St Pius School our girls looked to make it three in a row against the Flyers 'Heat' Basketball team this past Tuesday, 29th May from The YMCA on Pembroke Street. The video was filmed from the subs bench during the game!
